Program Committment

Baxalta is committed to building a strong Supplier Diversity Process. Diverse suppliers have an equal opportunity to be included in Baxalta's Global Sourcing and Procurement process. Companies that seek to do business with Baxalta must demonstrate the ability to understand our core values, add value and provide high-quality goods and services that are competitively priced, reliable and aligned with our superior level of service.

Tier II Program

Through our work with prime suppliers, we seek to achieve supplier diversity at multi-tiered levels within our supply chain.


Our commitment extends to educating employees, management, suppliers, and the community-at-large on our supplier diversity process, policies and achievements.

Objective Measurements

We are focused on establishing and meeting company and departmental objectives that support our overall diversity strategy. With a strong emphasis on continuous improvement, our teams continuously review our progress toward achieving our supplier diversity goals and objectives.

Training and Education

We ensure that associates in decision-making positions throughout our organization understand Baxalta’s Supplier Diversity principles and commitment.

External Outreach Activities

We seek diverse suppliers through active involvement with national and regional minority business development organizations and participation in matchmaking and procurement events.

We highlight and reward the hard work and outstanding efforts of our employees, suppliers and community partners.

Our Objectives

We strive to:
  • Actively seek certified diverse suppliers.
  • Ensure the inclusion of diverse suppliers as a part of our Global Sourcing and Procurement process.
  • Communicate the value of supplier diversity both internally and externally to all stakeholders.
  • Leverage our supplier diversity results to meet our supplier diversity requirements.
  • Continually grow our Tier 1 and Tier 2 spend with diverse suppliers and/or the number of diverse suppliers in our supply base as key components of our progress

Program Participant Qualifications

To participate in the Baxalta Supplier Diversity Process, a business must be at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by member(s) from one of the following targeted enterprises or other businesses recognized by the Small Business Administration (SBA):

Minority Business Enterprises (“MBE”) consists of:

  • African American
  • Asian
  • Asian Indian
  • Asian Pacific
  • Hispanic American
  • Native American

Women Business Enterprises (“WBE”) consist of both Non-minority & Minority-owned women businesses

Veteran Business Enterprise (“VET”) consists of former members of the United States Armed Services

LGBT Business Enterprises consists of business-owners who are defined as, Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual and Transgender

Disabled-Owned Business Enterprises (DOBE) consists of business-owners who are defined as individuals with a disability or service disabled veterans

Register as a Supplier

If you qualify as a diverse business and possess a current certification from a certifying agency such as NMSDC, WBENC, NGLCC or a city, state or federal agency, we invite you to complete an online supplier profile. By completing this profile, your company information will be entered into our database of potential suppliers.

Please be aware that this registration does not qualify you as an approved supplier. This step is the beginning of the process that allows your company information to be made available to Baxalta's procurement team for potential opportunities.
